| Beer Chosen Int'l LLL Vice President
Ten other officers elected to fill governing posts
Peoria, Ill., Jul. 19, 2003 At its 86th annual international convention here, the International Lutheran Laymen's League (Int'l LLL) today elected Robert Beer to a two-year term as vice president. Mark Dunlop was re-elected treasurer while Michael "Mick" Onnen was chosen secretary. Eight other officers were elected to fill regional governing posts.
A retired computer consultant, Beer is a resident of Pella City, Ala. He has actively participated in the Int'l LLL for more than 20 years. Beer stepped in to fill the remaining vice presidential term of Alvin Waldron when Waldron was elected league President. He also has served the organization as a regional governor and committee chairman. In addition, Beer has been a participant on various task forces including the Lutheran Hour speaker search committee, the Domain Study task force and the strategic planning committee.

Mark Dunlop of Des Peres, Mo., begins a second term as Int'l LLL treasurer. Dunlop is director of member services for The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) Worker Benefit Plans. He has served the Int'l LLL as a regional governor and chairman of the ministries and ministry support committees, in addition to conducting leadership workshops.
Michael "Mick" Onnen of Davenport, Neb., is the new league secretary. He has served the organization internationally as chairman, vice-chairman and ministries committee member-at-large. Onnen is employed as a natural resources district manager.
Paul Martin of Fitchburg, Mass., was re-elected governor of Region 1. A senior engineer and supervisor for a New Hampshire machine tool company, Martin has served the Int'l LLL as volunteer opportunities committee vice chairman, resolutions committee member and ministries committee member-at-large.
H. Werner Essig of Starkville, Miss., was re-elected to second term as governor of Region 3. A professor emeritus at Mississippi State University-Starkville, Essig holds a doctorate in animal nutrition. A long-time league member, Essig has served on the marketing communications committee and chaired the finance and administration committee. He is a former district president, vice president and zone facilitator.
John "Jack" Kidwell of Bay City, Mich., was re-elected governor of Region 5. Kidwell has served the Int'l LLL in numerous positions, including development committee chairman and resolutions committee member. A Valparaiso University alumnus, Kidwell has been a counselor for the LCMS Foundation and a district representative for Lutheran Brotherhood.
John Tews of Baynard, Iowa, is the new governor of Region 7. An insurance agent with Farm Bureau Financial Service, he also is a director for Central Iowa Mental Health Center. Tews has served the league as a resolutions committee member, zone treasurer, district facilitator and district president.
Earl "Skip" Eno of Jefferson City, Mo., was named governor or Region 9. A retired Federal Highway Administration financial manager, Eno has served the league as a resolutions committee member, ministries committee member-at-large and as a district president.
James Kor of Cheyenne, Wyo., begins a second term as governor of Region 11. An engineer with the Bureau of Land Management, Kor also has served the Int'l LLL as a member of the resolutions and nominations screening committees. In addition he has been a volunteer opportunities committee member-at-large.
Paul Kratzke of Pocatello, Idaho, begins a second term as governor of Region 13. President of the Utah-Idaho District LLL, Kratzke has served the league internationally as a resolutions committee member and is a former zone president.
Edwin "Ed" Tiefenbach of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, is the new governor of Region 15. Tiefenbach is a member-at-large on the ministries committee. He also served as a member of the Domain Study Task Force. Tiefenbach is a former district president, membership chairman and editor.
