Organizational Overview

Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) is based in St. Louis, Missouri, and has ministry centers throughout the world. Through radio and TV programming, Internet and print materials, Bible courses dramas, music, and dance, LHM proclaims the Gospel to those who need to hear it.

LHM is a volunteer-led organization supporting The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS), Lutheran Church-Canada (LCC), and churches worldwide. However, LHM is not funded by the LCMS or LCC. Generous supporters make ministry possible.

LHM focuses on four areas of ministry:

  • The Lutheran Hour, our flagship program, is the longest-running Gospel radio program, airing since 1930. The program airs on more than 800 stations in the U.S. and Canada, the American Forces Network, XM Satellite radio, and online. It is also available via podcast. Pastor Ken Klaus, Speaker of The Lutheran Hour, also writes Daily Devotions that are available online or via e-mail.
  • Woman to Woman is an award-winning radio program that offers hope and help for the great challenges facing women today. By introducing her listeners to guests who have expertise and the experience to back it up, host Phyllis Wallace fills each show with talk you can trust. The program airs on more than 280 stations, XM Satellite radio, and online.
  • The LHM Men's NetWork provides men with resources and opportunities to grow in their faith and to learn - through service, fellowship, and leadership development - how to be all that God has called them to be in their families, churches, and communities. It offers Scripture-based, downloadable materials to respond to men's needs and interests.
  • LHM's International Ministries division reaches out around the world in many different ways to connect with people who do not know Christ. Each ministry center tailors their outreach to their culture. For example, in India, dance is used to tell the salvation story, while in Vietnam, volunteers often use puppet shows to proclaim the Gospel (puppet shows are very popular there).
