Assistant Director
Ministry Advancement Division
An experienced manager is needed to provide leadership to meet the annual income goals primarily through the Ministry Support programs including such areas as Annual Giving, Telecare, publications, donor recognition, Lutheran Hour Ministries Sunday and donor communications while also providing administrative support to meet the overall income goals of the Ministry Advancement Division through management of the budget and development of grants and major gift proposals. The Assistant Director will provide the development and implementation of annual Strategic Plan programs and goals. Areas of proven strength include: Employee management, Annual Giving, Budgeting.
The Assistant Director will also serve as Chair of the Fund Development Coordination Council (members representing all LHM Divisions) and as the primary liaison with the Marketing and Communications Division to assure that all fund development materials fit the LHM brand and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or non-profit management required.
Master's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in fund raising.
- Ability to understand and utilize fund development software and data systems.
- Proven experience and ability with team-oriented management of creative and support staff gained through at least five years of fund development activity management.
- Visionary, creative, and strategic thinker with the ability to put ideas and plans into action to achieve specific key results.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, donor relations including best practices in cultivation and stewardship.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with volunteer leaders, staff leaders, and communications staff, and to manage creative people.

Regional Manager (Deployed)
U.S. Ministries
A deployed full time position, this role is responsible for communicating the ministry resources and programs of Lutheran Hour Ministries to congregations, professional church workers; LCMS district offices and other Synodical organizations within the assigned region. This is accomplished by building relationships, providing LHM resources, and being an LHM presence at events such as pastor conferences, teacher conferences, and congregational celebratory events. The Regional Manager will work with Ministry Advancement staff to recruit, train and assist qualified congregational Ambassadors, who can continue to foster a partnership relationship with LHM.
Location--- Currently LHM is recruiting for positions within two U.S. regions that include the following LCMS districts:
- Eastern, Atlantic, New England, New Jersey
- Eastern Iowa, Southern Wisconsin, Northern and Central Illinois, Indiana
Qualifications Required:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Member in good standing of an LCMS or LCC congregation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Proficient in the use of various communication technologies
- Proficient in the use of technology in creating and leading effective visual presentations
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Ability to project a professional, enthusiastic, forward-thinking image for Lutheran Hour Ministries
Desirable Qualifications:
- College degree in a church work field, marketing, communications or similar field
- Significant and successful experience as a professional church worker in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or The Lutheran Church - Canada.
